FAQ

Right now, trusti™ offers a test for HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), specifically for the HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies. More tests are in the pipeline as soon as they get approved, so drop your email in our newsletter to be the first to know.
Done in 60 seconds! trusti™ only distributes rapid STI tests, meaning there are no labs and no waiting around. Our HIV Testing Kit includes a rapid test that provides high-accuracy results in one minute.
We hear you, but trusti™ currently only offers HIV rapid testing. More STI tests are in the works, pending approval. You can subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop and get first access when new tests become available (way to stay on top of your sexual health!).

If you want to test for more conditions, check out our resources page to find a testing centre near you.
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a sexually transmitted and blood-borne infection that attacks the immune system, specifically CD4 cells. Without treatment, it can lead to AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). As a viral infection, HIV is, by definition, incurable. It is, however, very manageable under the right course of treatment and medication. While HIV can be very serious, many Canadians live long and healthy lives while treated for HIV.

Visit our STI Info page to learn more about HIV and other STIs.

First time testing? No worries!

Once you've purchased a kit and created an account, you can pre-book an appointment with a nurse who'll walk you through everything. They'll help you complete your test and interpret the results, at no extra cost to you.

Already mid-test? Click "Complete My Test" to access our test instruction walk-through or use the instruction sheet in your kit.

Simple as that.

Look, we know forms are annoying, but this screening helps our nurses figure out what's actually going on with your sexual health.

HIV testing is appropriate for everyone, but timing matters and it's important to understand your potential exposure. Depending on your sexual history and when you last tested, you might not be in the testing window yet. We ask about your exposure history to ensure accurate and timely testing for your risk level.

If you've had an HIV exposure in the last 72 hours, or you're noticing some concerning STI symptoms, we'll need you to skip the at-home test and head straight to in-person care. Why? Because you might need PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis), emergency contraception, or other immediate treatment. Let's get you the right care at the right time.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Your sex life changes and so does your health status. That's why we ask you to do a fresh screening with every test. It helps our nurses give you the most accurate care recommendations based on what's actually happening with your health right now.

Ugh, that's frustrating! Contact our customer support team by email or phone and we'll sort it out.

Sorry, once your order's out for delivery, we can't redirect it. But you can update your address for future orders by going to the My Account dashboard and selecting 'Edit Address'.

Not officially. We do need a name for shipping and payment, however, if you buy or receive a kit in person, you can create an account with just an email and a preferred name that doesn't have to include any identifying information.

Regardless, any account information is stored separately from your health screenings, appointment details, and results reporting.

For more information, visit our Privacy Policy.

No, you're never required to report your test results. But if you do share them, it helps our nurse team better connect you with the detailed support if needed. Plus, your deidentified data helps track STI rates in Ontario and understand how HIV is spreading in Canada. We may share anonymous statistics with public health bodies and researchers to develop better testing technology and support communities in need.

Absolutely! Every kit comes with nurse support during the testing process. Need help doing your self-test? Questions about results? Want to connect with treatment? Our trusti™ nurses are here every step of the way - no extra charge, no judgment.
